Virginia voters have the option to apply for a mail-in absentee ballot as early as one year before an election. Applying early ensures plenty of time to receive, complete, and return your ballot without delays. If you know you plan to vote by mail, it’s a good idea to submit your application as soon as possible to guarantee your voice is heard on Election Day.
